Biography
Winand Emons is a Counsel with Swiss Economics. He studied economics at the University of Bonn and the London School of Economics. He spent a year as a postdoctoral fellow at UC San Diego. He then habilitated at the University of Basel in 1990. From 1992 to 2023, he was a Full Professor of Economic Theory at the University of Bern. He retired in August 2023. He specialized in competition theory and economic analysis of law, and published in prestigious journals in both fields. In addition to his academic career, he was a member of the Swiss Competition Commission from 2012 to 2023.
